This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) sets forth the privacy practices of LIONS CLUB OF AMPANG (“LC AMPANG”) with respect to all personal data or other non-personal data provided or made accessible on or through our website at www.ampanglionsclub.org (the “Website”). In this Privacy Policy, “we”, “us”, “our” and other similar references mean LC AMPANG.

BY ACCESSING OR USING OUR WEBSITE AND SERVICES, YOU CONSENT TO THE COLLECTION, PROCESSING, USE, STORAGE AND TRANSFER OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA AS DESCRIBED IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ANY PART OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY, THEN PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SERVICES ON THE WEBSITE.

 

1.         INFORMATION WE PROCESS

 

Personal Data is information that directly or indirectly identifies you, such as your name, email address, date of birth and telephone number.

 

Other Information is information that, by itself does not individually identify you, such as browser type, operating system, the webpages you viewed and how long you viewed them.

 

2.         HOW WE USE INFORMATION

 

You may choose not to provide us with your Personal Data. If you choose not to furnish any mandatory personal data requested or wish to withdraw your consent or significantly limit the processing of your personal data, you agree that we may not be able to provide you with our services.

 

We receive information:

 

When you register for the services on the Website: When you register for the services, we process Personal Data, including your name, email address, mobile telephone number, date of birth and encrypted password.

 

When you use the services: We receive information about the services that you use and how you use them. We may also ask for information, some of which is Personal Data, so that we may keep you informed and provide you with information on upcoming events in your area or inform you of opportunities to support our missions. This information is not required to use the services.

 

From Your Device: If you accept cookies, we will receive information about your computer, tablet or mobile telephone (“Device”), such as model, operating system version, mobile network information, mobile telephone number, internet service provider and similar identifiers.  We may associate your Device information with your account. We may collect and store information (including your Personal Data) about your Device through a browser web and web application data caches.

 

If you enable location services on your mobile device, we may also process your geolocation information (“Location Data”) from your wireless carrier, through a wearable or other device you have connected (for example, a smart watch) to our services, and/or directly from the Device on which you use our services. Geolocation is not permanently stored. It is only used for targeting activities in your area.

 

Through Data Collection Technology: We use cookies and similar technology (“Data Collection Technology”) to automatically collect gather information (including Other Information) about you when you use the services. 

 

Through Server Logs: A server log is a list of the activities that a server performs.  Our servers automatically store in server logs search queries, hardware settings, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and referral URL and certain cookies that identify your browser or account.  Some of this information is gathered through Data Collection Technology in order to improve the services.

 

3.         DATA COLLECTION TECHNOLOGY

 

Data Collection Technology collects all sorts of information, such as how long you engage with the services, the content you view, your search queries, error and performance reports, as well as Device identifier or IP address, browser type, time zone and language settings and operating system.

 

Data Collection Technology deployed through the services includes cookies.

Whilst every reasonable precaution shall be taken to protect all personal data in terms of protection of personal data transmitted and shared online via the internet, such data transmission cannot be guaranteed to be secured and any sharing of personal data in this way shall be done at the user's risk.

Your personal data may from time to time be transferred to, stored, used and processed by us in places other than Malaysia. This is because some of our digital storage facilities and servers may be located in such other places.

 

In addition to the above, your personal data may also be transferred out of Malaysia to third parties and you hereby consent to the transfer of your personal data out of Malaysia.

We provide links to websites outside of the Website. We also allow some third parties to display widgets and applications on the Website that allow you to interact and share content including social media buttons such as Facebook share and like, Twitter, Pinterest and Google. These linked sites, applications and widgets are not under our control, and we cannot accept responsibility for the conduct of companies linked to the Website or their collection of information through these third party applications or widgets. Before disclosing your personal information on any other website, or using these applications or widgets we advise you to examine the terms and conditions of using that website and the relevant third party’s data collection practices and controls in their privacy policy.

You have the right to access any personal data we collect about you and may request correction any personal data that is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, subject to any applicable legal restrictions and contractual conditions.
